El sueño de todo sneakerhead se ha hecho realidad.
Después de años de espera, Asics vuelve a sacar a la venta los dos colores originales de Gel Saga II(black/purple & White/blue).
Lanzadas en Estados Unidos a finales de los 90, y en Asia el año siguiente, las Gel Saga fueron creadas originalmente para satisfacer la creciente demanda de los corredores que utilizaban zapatillas de peso ligero.
La Gel Saga II fue uno de los primeros modelos en utilizar compresión de EVA moldeada. Este tipo de suela no sólo es extremadamente ligera, sinó que también proporciona un mejor ajuste y apoyo del pié.
Sin embargo, su peso no fue el único factor que hizo que este modelo fuera todo un hit en los 90s: su diseño sencillo y limpio, inspirado en el robot GEL GOOG de la serie de anime japonés "Mobile Suit Gundam", hizo que este modelo arrasara en Asia.
El diseño original de la zapatilla ha sido cuidadosamente recreado, con nuevos moldes y patrones, invirtiendo enorme cantidad de tiempo para garantizar que las zapatilla tiene el mismo look, shape, materiales y comodidad que las Gel Saga lanzadas en los 90s.
Estas increíbles runners van a estar disponibles en 24 kilates durante este mes de Agosto. En unos días anunciaremos el día exacto.

Sneaker fans’ dreams have finally come true.
After years of waiting, the GEL SAGA will be released in its original colourways (black/purple & white/blue) .
First launched in the US back in 1990 and in Japan the following year, the shoe was originally created to meet the growing demand from runners for lightweight shoes. Competitor models at the time generally featured a sheet EVA midsole, but the GEL SAGA II was among the first to use compression-moulded EVA. Not only is this extremely lightweight, it also provides long-lasting resiliency, improved fit and support. In addition, instead of split leather and suede often used for running shoes at this time, the GEL SAGA II was made from soft-to-the-touch synthetic materials, which are also very light.
However, its weight wasn’t the only factor that made this model such a success: its simple and clean design, inspired by the robot GEL GOOG in the Japanese anime series “Mobile Suit Gundam”, made it a firm fashion favourite.
To prepare for the launch, the original design of the shoe has been lovingly recreated, with new moulds and patterns. An enormous amount of time and effort has been invested to ensure the shoe has precisely the same look and feel as the 90s original.
Those amazing sneakers will be available during this month at 24 kilates, in very limited quantities.
