Nike introdujo la tecnología Flywire en 2008 y hemos visto toneladas de zapatillas con esta tela de la era espacial. Como en cuando se incorporaron las suelas Free en '05, la marca actualizó numerosos modelos retro con dicha tecnología. Ahora la idea es la misma pero esto supone la tercera actualización.
La Free-sole Nike Air Max BW Gen II no tiene Flywire, en lugar de éste Nike utiliza el Torch, un nuevo material consistente en un triple mesh que se soporta en una estrucutra interna de plástico en forma de diamante. Incluso Rasheed Wallace ha pedido unas Air Force 1 Hi en este material, lo que nos hace pensar que lo vamos a ver en abundantes releases para 2010. Nike introduced Flywire in 2008 and we’ve seen a ton of shoes updated with the space-age fabric. As with the introduction of Free soles back in ‘05, the Swoosh dropped a ton of updated retros, both this year and last. Expect further enhancements of some of your favourite designs, now with a third significant update.
The Free-sole Nike Air Max BW Gen II doesn’t have Flywire, instead utilizing Nike’s new Torch material. It’s a three layered ‘mesh’ that piles a diamond-like lattice over top of a middle grid layer, both of which sit atop a moisture-wicking base.
We saw that Rasheed Wallace asked for it on a pair of his infamous Nike Air Force 1 Highs, so it’s only natural that Torch will continue to pop up on your favourite models throughout 2010. The best part is, it’s a technologically advanced fabric, but there’s less of it, so Torch is in line with the huge 2010 for Nike Considered Designs. Check out the video below.
