The Air Structure has definitely made a major impact this year with initial colorways that’s been the favorite of retro Nike Running heads. They are very similar in colors so some of you might not know the different editions available here in the US and in Europe. Pictured above, on the left (blue toe) is the Europe exclusive colorway and on right (black toe) is the US exclusive colorway. As of right now, you can find both colorways and 1 more to come at 24 kilates

24 KILATES X NEW BALANCE X NEW ERA

24 Kilates ha conseguido juntar a dos marcas punteras en su sector, New Balance y New Era, para lanzar el ‘Modernism pack’, una edición limitada de 144 unidades que ha encontrado su inspiración en la figura sobre la que gira el movimiento artístico que define Barcelona: el modernismo. Huelga casi decir quién es este personaje, pero se lo recordamos a aquellos menos doctos en arte: es Antoni Gaudí.
Tanto los ‘sneakers’ de New Balance, que vienen en su formato 1.700 – el cual no se fabrica en el Reino Unido desde tiempos inmemorables -, como la gorra de New Era están decoradas con el policromático mosaico del genio catalán sobre un fondo negro. Un triunvirato de leyendas centenarias en su sector, NB-NE y Gaudí, juntadas por la emprendedora mano de 24 Kilates, la cual inaugura con este proyecto pionero una serie de tres en los que se hará referencia a una figura imprescindible de la cultura española. Pese a que los otros dos serán sorpresa hasta fechas previas a su lanzamiento, podemos adelantar que el ‘Modernism Pack’ estará disponible a partir de marzo de 2008.
En tan sólo tres años, 24 Kilates ha emergido y se ha consolidado en la escena barcelonesa e internacional como una tienda especialista en ediciones limitadas y ‘sneakers’ rara avis, además de aportar una innovación inusitada en ambos campos y también en el ‘streetwear’. Es por ello, por esta ansia de innovación, que recurre a Gaudí, un adelantado a su tiempo que vislumbró cosas propias del siglo XXI a cien años vista. La filosofía, la idea, las ganas de crear, es lo que ha motivado a 24 Kilates a reunir a los mejores en un solo producto. Quien lo quiera comprobar por sí mismo deberá darse prisa y moverse ya porque marzo está a la vuelta de la esquina y las ediciones limitadas reciben ese nombre por algún motivo…

Antoni Gaudi, the genial and visionary architect who gave Barcelona its current look, inspires a special edition of 144 packs of caps and sneakers dressed up with a multicoloured mosaic who has always defined himself. And it’s only the first of a series of three kits based on a key figure of their own culture…
Reading this previous statement you can appreciate 24 kilates are creating an international atmosphere but keeping strongly their roots. They are locals trying to make Barcelona bigger than ever in their own scene. Gaudi is just another step up in the ladder, in that ladder which climbs up to what they want to become the real scene of sneakers in Spain and why not further…
